Sprint and AT&T both unveiled new 4G coverage zones today. The realm of 4G wireless networking continues to grow with each passing week, and for business users it has matured from a luxury to a necessity.
Sprint finally introduced 4G/LTE coverage in New York (or at least part of NY)—obviously a major wireless market. Meanwhile, AT&T added 4G coverage in eight new regions, bringing AT&T 4G service to a total of 336 markets across the United States.

July 23, 2013 at 1:13 am Evernote isn’t pulling any punches in its continuing effort to challenge Microsoft OneNote. With updates for the Windows desktop version, as well as the iOS and Android apps, Evernote is adding a variety of features that will benefit business users, and make a compelling case to drop OneNote.
Android users have long been able to view Microsoft Office files with the Evernote app. The new update, however, makes Evernote much more functional because users can now edit attached Office files as well using the OfficeSuite app.

Computerized eyewear users, say hello to visually delivered exploits.
To wit, Google has patched a vulnerability in its wearable Google Glass devices — best known for their optical, head-mounted displays with built-in cameras — that could be exploited via QR codes to hack into and take full control of the devices.
The vulnerability, discovered by Lookout Security, was serious because it could be silently exploited to fully compromise a Glass device simply by leaving a malicious QR code where a Google glass user might “see” it.

July 20, 2013 at 1:13 pm In April, Microsoft posted unexpectedly strong quarterly results, seemingly unhurt by Windows 8′s struggles nor the collapsing PC market. The company could go only so long until Win8 began to affect its bottom line, however, and it appears the clock has run out.
On Thursday, Microsoft announced fiscal fourth-quarter earnings that missed Wall Street estimates by a significant margin. The company also announced a $ 900 million write-down related to unsold Surface RT inventory, a revelation that exposes the desperate subtext of the product’s recent $ 150 price cut.
